Fantastic - only steps from wide, uncrowded beach!
Our favorite beach property. Quiet, north end location - kids can skateboard in the street! Huge back lawn for lawn games. Clean, comfy, uncluttered and unpretentious unit. Love the outdoor shower and old world screened in porch for breakfast and cocktails!

Perfect location, had a great stay!
We stayed two weeks. There was plenty of room for our family of four, a few overnight visits from grandparents, and hosting of daytime guests. We brought our own linens and kid-related stuff (pac n play, toys, etc). It had everything else we needed. The North End is the perfect setting for nature lovers to enjoy walks and for kids to play outdoors. There is little traffic on the streets, the beach is wide and never too crowded, and there is a unique forest in the state park (you can enter at the end of the street).

Loved our vacation next to the beach!! 4 1/2 stars
This house was exactly as pictured. We were two families who stayed there, both visiting Virginia Beach for the first time. The house was four or five houses away from the beach. Our kids enjoyed being on the beach everyday and that part of the beach was beautiful. We saw the dolphins everyday!!! The house was in good condition. It only has one bathroom but it worked out just fine. We did have some minor issues but they were quickly resolved (gas smell outside, washing machine leaking). We loved the closed in porch and the hammock in the back yard. We visited the Virginia aquarium, boardwalk (a few times), jungle mini golf, and many seafood restaurants. We loved eating fresh seafood right from the Chesapeake bay. We also did yacht cruises which were so much fun and romantic. We would definitely stay again. Dealing with the Patti from the realty was a pleasure. You felt how genuine she was just through emails. And to be greeted with a gift from them was a definite a plus.

Great vacation rental!
We loved our week at the beach here! The home was clean, well mantained, and well furnished. We loved having meals on the porch and being so close to the beach. It was so easy to walk out the door and down the boardwalk each day for some relaxation by the ocean. We enjoyed meals at Bubbas and Tautogs while we were there as well as rented a pontoon boat from Bay River Boat Rentals to see all the river inlets and nature. We also went to check out the newly renovated Cavalier hotel, which is just down the street, and it was gorgeous and a great activity for a rainy afternoon. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants to have a fun and relaxing time close to the ocean!!

A home away from home
Eighty-fifth Street feels like a home away from home, and we have returned to Sandy Bottom for many years. The property is clean and comfortable and it is location just a short walk to the beach is fabulous. The beach is wide and uncrowded in the North End, and we have become friendly with many of the neighbors over the years. Despite the temptation to sleep in while on vacation, sunrise is always spectacular and a great way to start the day. Highly recommended!

Excellent location. Well equipped.
We have a great week although the weather was not nice the entire week. There are many other activities near VB. The kids (and the parents) had a lot of fun in the waves. The sea is not always equal though and we had to take our youngest (an active 10 years old) out of the water twice as the waves were too rough on him. Most of the times the beach and the waves were perfect for swimming or bodyboarding. The apartment is very well equipped. Excellent location if you don’t want to spend the week in the busier part of VB. The beach is a lot less crowded on the northern end of VB. Only comments would be the umbrella that was in a bad need for a replacement (but we had brought one from home anyway). Patti was very helpful before and during our stay. It was one of the best service we’ve had in the recent years with summer rentals. Excellent communication. We recommend.

Unplugged, a perfect beach vacation!
Love this property! We came back to this property again this year to enjoy being from the beach, no traffic to cross,and a clean classic beach cottage with a big yard for lawn games. It's a great value at what many locals consider the best part of Virginia Beach's iconic North End.

"Sandy Bottom” is a fully furnished summer weekly rental uniquely located in the far North End of Virginia Beach affording both sunrise and sunset views from the beach. Our cozy and comfortable 3-bedroom top-floor duplex is approximately 200 feet from the beach with no street to cross and a wooden walkway for easy access to the ocean. Included are a first-floor laundry room and outdoor shower. Large furnished screened porch offers dining area with table for six overlooking private fenced-in back yard. Newly furnished and freshly painted throughout! Ideal for children! Families preferred. Minimum adult age requirement of 25. NO SMOKING.
