Perfect place to relax and unwind

Let me see if I can fit all of this in here. First of all we just loved this place. It's very simple, somewhat rural and peaceful. When you come down the driveway the house is to the left as you go through the trees. The cabin was very clean and had what we needed. Keurig coffee maker, toaster, oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer, glasses and utensils. All very clean. The kayaks and canoe, near the water, are such a great idea. When you go wear some pool shoes or old tennis shoes because there are a few times you will need to get out if the water is low. Go LEFT (downstream) because the scenery is just the best. You'll see an old bridge, fish etc. The water is crystal clear even when it's 9-10 ft deep. Definitely worth doing. The fact that the owners have made them available is the best. We woke up each morning to watch the slow calm river/creek. We saw Pileated Woodpeckers and heard them everywhere. No Eagles, but we were only there 2 days. Make sure you bring everything you need because there is not a lot close by as far as grocery stores etc. Just what we wanted. No cell service, which was even better. There is wifi and it did come in handy when looking for things close by. The beds were very clean and comfortable. ZERO complaints with the cabin. Make it a point to go to Jefferson National Forest. It's about 10 mins away but worth the trip for sure. If you want a long hike take the right trail (3 miles) Shorter trail to your left, but worth the hike. The falls are at the end of the trail. Go up to the right of the falls and there is a small lagoon like pool at the top of the falls. Look up Roaring Run Falls Jefferson National Forest. I would highly recommend this place for a simple getaway for relaxation and I'd love to come back again one day. Hope this helps someone's decision making. We narrowed our list down to 3 places to stay and we are so glad we picked this one.

Wonderful vacation!!

What a wonderful get away! The cottage is extremely remote and so private. The creek is amazing and the kayaking was wonderful. The dog loved being able to run around without fences! No cell service.... It was wonderful! We sat in the chairs drinking coffee and watching the water in the mornings and ended the day sitting in front of the fire. Couldn't ask for anything more! Perfect in every way!! Thank you Mitch and Bobbie!

Blissful Retreat

This was our second time staying at Cottage on Craig Creek - my husband, dog, and me visited 4 years ago on our 1st wedding anniversary, and came back for our 5th! We've traveled to a lot of rural places for vacations, but we've never found a better place than this for home comforts AND adventures in equal parts. The cottage is great and the creek is even better. The best part? Our 9-year-old pup finally learned how to swim! :) Thank you so much, Mitch and Bobbie, for your generosity and hospitality. We will come again, hopefully soon.
