very disappointed in this unit!!!!

NO STARS!!!!>>>I have never been so disappointed in a rental property. My family has been going to Myrtle Beach & North Myrtle Beach for over 20 years. Most every time we have rented through Elliott Realty and have often referred others to also rent through Elliott Realty. This year we arrived at 1:00 pm and completely understand that due to the cleaning process it is sometimes likely to not get in the unit until 3:00-5:00 which has never happened to us before but we actually drove to the property around 2:00 just to locate and walk on down to the ocean. At 2:30 the maid service arrived at the unit, we were told we would be notified when the property was ready and again that was fine but around 4:00 we received alerts on our cells phones that there was a tornado "warning" not watch for our area and to take cover immediately. We had a 4 year old, an 18 month old and my daughter who has extreme fear of tornadoes with us. My daughter's husband asked if my daughter and the baby could at least come in the unit until this passed and the man cleaning told him she could come in, waited until she got up to the door and locked the door in her face. I made a call to Elliott and was told to drive to a restaurant or mall to take cover. When the maid service, one man and one woman, finally exited the unit at 6:00 pm they came out with smirks on their face as if to say HA! We go in to find the place filthy!! very dirty floors, dirty countertops, tables and even the chairs had food in them. Someone's underwear still in one dresser drawer, toothpaste spit on water faucets, pee on one toilet seat, a blender setting on the counter that we didn't even want to touch without gloves, broken stovetop that had a large amount of food down in it that was very visible, kitchen ceiling leaked and began to fall through on us due to a pan of water near the air unit catching water was overflowing, we were not aware of this pan until the water started to pour on me as I stood by the counter in the kitchen, there were tv's in most bedrooms that would not even turn on. We felt the maid service people were taking longer purposely because they knew we were waiting, we had drove over night for 10 hours, we were not only tired but needing to use the restroom and again were under tornado warning at two separate times so yes we wanted in our unit but we did not harras the cleaners, only asked for my daughter and the baby to be allowed in until that passed. Once we got in and called Elliott about the filth they did send someone else out to clean the bathrooms and counters, we did the floors ourselves, and yes we did sanitize everything ourselves, later that night as I went to the bedroom I was staying in I stepped on something very sharp in the carpet as I looked to see what it was I found a hair pin had been threaded through the carpet to stick straight up. At first I though okay that hurt but surely someone dropped it and it somehow got stuck in the carpet but no, I began looking and found three on that side of the bed, one at the foot of the bed and another on the other side. My niece stepped on one in the game room and my other niece found one sticking up in the carpet in the stairway, they had been threaded in the carpet to stick straight up. If my 18 month old grandbaby had fallen on one of those pins she could have gotten stuck in the eye, ear or who knows! It would have been BAD!!!!! We honestly did not feel safe to even let her down in the carpeted areas as it seemed someone had purposely set us up to get hurt! Also, we were told there was no wifi in the unit, which I think is ridiculous but was told that there was a computer with high speed internet access, NOT!!!! We had nothing, not even a working phone in the unit, made several phone calls to Elliott, from our cells, bc my son n law needed internet for his job but nothing was ever done. Needless to say this is the LAST time our family will rent from Elliott Realty and we will tell our friends of this experience. I would love to speak to the owner of this unit because for the money required to rent this unit you would expect so much more. A few years ago we rented in the other building, Tahitian Princess II from another renter and the unit was gorgeous, immaculate, all inclusive, had wifi and even discounted the property for us and it was way less $$ than this disgusting place! the worst vacation we've ever had!
