Beautiful Camp Awad!

What a wonderful place for a vacation retreat! I spent a relaxing week at Paradox lake along with our friends. We were 7 in all. We had more than enough room to spread out and enjoy everything this property has to offer. From back yard BBQ's to daily games of wiffle ball in the front yard, we had a blast! The well equipped gourmet kitchen was a pleasure to cook in when we weren't going to the Drake restaurant in the town of Schroon close by. This home was clean and comfortable with beautiful woodwork and cosy little nooks. It was very enjoyable. Did I mention that we caught and released a ton of fish and took advantage of the row boat we were offered to use? We spent our nights in the hot tub, watching movies in the family room or sitting on the dock watching the sunset. Just a really nice inviting home with all the ammenities one could hope for in a vacation rental. We will be back!

Awesome lake house!

We had a wonderful week with old friends at Camp Awad! The house is on a beautiful lot with lots of pretty flowers and tomato plants, which George encouraged us to pick and enjoy while we were there. The lake is clean and quiet, the beach pretty, with a nice swimming dock to lay out on. Sunsets were incredible! We used the canoe and rowboat that were there, and had fun exploring the nooks and crannies of the lake. The house itself is very well maintained, with a beautiful kitchen and large dining room. We cooked all nights but one, and used the propane grill every time. We were there during a heatwave, but thankfully there were ceiling fans in the bedrooms that helped us sleep. We appreciated the comfy beds and numerous bathrooms, too. The house was very clean and comfortable, and we also enjoyed the hot tub a couple of nights before the weather was too hot. The stars were incredible from the hot tub, and we felt like we were worlds away! George was very helpful before and during our stay, helping us figure out where to go and even sending us a packet of info on the area before we arrived. We explored Fort Ticonderoga, the New Skete Monastery and dog breeding operation, and Mt. Whiteface and a gorgeous waterfall nearby. All were beautiful and interesting. All in all it was the perfect combination of relaxing days at the lake and fun and interesting exploring of the area. The town is pretty small but we did enjoy the farmer's market one day and went out to dinner our last night. This is a great place to get together with family or friends!

Amazing Quiet Summer Retreat

Our family recently rented this wonderful vacation home and enjoyed ourselves, even more that at the NJ Shore! The home is very clean, and the owners have thought of everything! Even down to a back up generator should you lose power! The home is very spacious and offers a great setting for those from 2-72! The children can play safely on the lawn, or on the flat beach. The raft situated out from the beach offers a nice swim to and from shore. Loons will quietly wake you up in the am and the setting sun will lull you to sleep. A great retreat for anyone looking to combine the luxury of vacation with the setting of the gorgeous Adirondacks!

Wonderful Vacation in Beautiful Home!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed a vacation week at Camp Awad. Upon arrival, the owner met us and gave us a tour of the home, explaining amenities and answering questions. He was accommodating, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. We couldn't ask for more. This beautiful home is exceptionally well cared for and clean. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The huge kitchen is well equipped and has plenty of room for a family to cook together. Although there is a large family style diningroom, we usually ate dinner outside on the deck overlooking the lake. We did use the diningroom to play games in the evening. Outside, there are beautiful gardens and great lawn space with lots of room for outside games. The lawn slopes gently to the beach where there is a lovely sitting area. Dock space was perfect for our boat, and the beach provided easy access for launching the kayaks we brought with us. We also appreciated having the outside shower so we could remove sand before returning inside. The lake itself was quiet, especially during the work week, which was great for water skiing and tubing. People of all ages would enjoy a vacation in this special rental. We recommend it and look forward to returning!
