PASS-A-GRILLE - The Key West of St Pete beach

Details

Home Description

Welcome to Historic Pass-A-Grille Beach, Homesteaded 1886, the Key West of St. Pete Beach. My wife and I welcome you and yours to our special home away from home. This is our family's longtime beach condo getaway. We are the owners and invite you to share the rich experience Historic Pass-A-Grille Beach has to offer. Pass-A-Grille is a rare jewel located at the southernmost tip of St. Pete Beach. Our beach retreat is a sea shell's throw south of the Don CeSar Hotel, a grand pink castle locals refer to as 'the Don'. The location is unique having access to the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway via Little McPherson Bayou. Here you will have the best of both worlds, a view of the marina, pool and bayou water activity yet steps from the beautiful private white sand beach of Pass-A-Grille. Waking up in the master to a Bayou sunrise and walking on the pristine beach early morning are priceless. My favorite routine is to go down to Merry Pier, grab a seat at the seawall to watch the sun come up and enjoy the bustle of people activity as the day unfolds. Afterwards I would highly recommend the Sea Horse for breakfast and a slow walk around Historic 8th Ave Business District.

Our condo is 1455 sq. ft. not including a good size L-shaped shaded balcony. Click on the Map tab and zoom in using the Satellite view. Our condo is located within a multi-unit Gulf of Mexico beach side building, on the East end of that building with views of Little McPherson Bayou, the marina and pool across Pass-A-Grille Way. The condo was professionally remodeled in 2014 by Van Selow Design Build. Almost everything, and I really mean everything, was replaced new. As the pictures show my wife has very good taste and style. The kitchen granite is Bora Bora, also called Wild Sea. Our place has an earthy look and feel of being at home on the beach. The cabinets are Boulder being more green grey then brown like the pictures. The back-splash is Mosaic glass named 'Jive' which just happens to match our favorite art work on the kitchen wall named 'Island Jive'. Even the dinnerware matches the back-splash perfectly as if they were meant to be together. The main flooring is porcelain planked tile with a woody texture and white wash in color similar to driftwood called Mood Wood. The master bedroom is nautical in style yet simple. The sleepy blue paint will do just that. The headboard was made by good ole' Dad attempting to get in touch with his feminine side. It has soft remote lighting behind the shutters that you just have to experience yourself. 'Are you picking up what I'm putting down?', as my son would say. You have views of 'the Don', pool, marina and bayou with the night view being the best. The master bath is to die for with a large shower, bench and rainfall water jet panel. The middle bedroom has a woman's touch and was claimed by my daughter who told my son 'sorry bro'. The front bedroom is the fun room for the young at heart. The guest bath is bright and beachy with sparkling quartz.

Our retreat has what you will need to relax, unwind and truly enjoy your stay.

Condo Amenities:

Private L-shaped shaded balcony, you won't see your neighbors and they won't see you.

New double pane windows and doors with privacy window treatment, it's quiet inside and temperature comfortable.

Large Granite island with seating for 6 and a desk area with USB charging for those devices.

New cooking and eating stuff, my wife's a vegetarian so she likely has all the kitchen gadgets and if not let me know.

All new appliances, you can barely hear the dishwasher running and if you figure out how to pilot the microwave or stove write those directions down for me.

More kitchen cabinet storage than you can possibly use.

New AC, ducts, hot water heater, plumbing fixtures and electrical throughout, I told you it's all new!

New Berber type carpet in bedrooms and wood looking planked porcelain tile elsewhere, the beach look and feel.

LED lighting throughout, with dim-able where needed, the 'mood' thing.

Coffer-ed ceiling with LED rope lighting in bathrooms, for the mood and it won't wake you up more than needed.

Five ceiling fans to cool your sunburn.

A good size master shower and a full tub in the guest for the little ones.

Three walk-in closets and hall storage with a wine cooler and stuff for the beach.

Commercial size washer and dryer, stay away from those.

Two wall-mounted 47" 3D HDTVs and two wall-mounted 32" HDTVs.

Weber electric grill that cooks great and a new Jawbone BIG Jambox.

As far as outside, well it's a condominium complex with common areas. You will have 2 over-sized dedicated shaded parking spaces, a beautiful newly renovated large pool with shade, fans and bathrooms overlooking the marina & bayou. There are private slips in the marina yet it is a common area so you can fish from anywhere along it's 500 ft. length. Slip 1 on the north end, facing the Don is ours and from the 45 ft. finger walk named Abbie Pier you can enjoy fishing or watching the fish swim around the underwater fish light. Key-less security access to the condo, beach gate, pool, pool restrooms and the elevator, freedom from keys! Best of all, you have me, your 'go-to single-point-of-contact'. I'm here to please. How's that for service!

Activities and attractions, this would depend on what you like to do. Myself, go boating, fishing or sit on the beach with a big hat and a cold one. It's your choice. For local ideas search the web using Pass-A-Grille, especially images. Some of my family's favorites close by are Fort DeSoto, Egmont and Shell Key which have island shuttle service. Merry Pier and Historic 8th Ave Business District are some of my favorite hangouts. The sights, food, shopping, night life, events, art and especially the people make this place the top of my list. There is far more here than meets the eye, on the internet or anything I may be able to tell you. Give yourself a few days to walk around slowly exploring and taking it all in.

Amazing condo and owners!

We recently spent 3 glorious months in Pass-a-Grille in a condo that surpassed our expectations! The visit started with a tour from Steve and Stephanie..making us feel right at home. We enjoyed the gift basket they surprised us with! The location could not be any better...close to restaurants, marina, pool and the beach. All the comforts of home are supplied with many extras. We enjoyed many nights on the balcony just relaxing. All the residents were very friendly and made a fuss over our 14 year old miniature dachshund. This was a vacation to remember thanks to Steve and Stephanie.

Pictures Do Not Do It Justice

Can you say “Pride of Ownership”. This pristine condo is spectacular with all of its updated amenities. Every room is well appointed and professionally decorated (the kitchen is especially grand with a huge granite island). There is nothing that they have not thought of or done very well. Plus, the location is perfect (steps from the beach and the marina). We enjoyed dinner and drinks at the historic Don Cesar—just a short stroll door to door along the scenic foot path (no need to drive), rented bikes at Merry Pier, shopped in Passagrille, took a short ride to downtown St. Petersburg, played golf, and walked the quaint alleyways viewing the multi-million dollar homes along Sunset Way. Truly a dream month spent at this wonderful home. Do as much or as little as you like.

Bonnie and Taz

Great place right in the heart of Pass-a-Grille. Just two blocks from the Don Cesar Hotel. The condo building is on the gulf and it has a wonderful heated pool! Neighbors were friendly and fun to get to know. The condo is beautiful and anything you would need is available. Steve and Stephanie did a fabulous job on the decorating and really make you feel at home and are always available to answer questions. Lots of places to go grab some amazing food and the shelling is so much fun after a rain at the southern end of Pass-a-Grille.

Passa_A-Grille Great getaway

Had a great time in Pass-A-Grille, Steve and Stephanie are wonderful hosts and even had a goody basket waiting for us when we checked in. The condo seems brand new, all bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect and the kitchen is much nicer than my one at home. Just south of the beautiful Don Cesar hotel, right on the beach and with a heated pool, everything you want for a get away or special event. If you like Pass-A-Grille is perfect, if you want busy and lots of choices for dinner and fun just go a mile north into St Pete Beach. Great location, wonderful condo, great hosts!
