The Pink House - Beach Villa 3BR

Details

Home Description

The Pink House is unforgettable. Past the front gate, you take the path through a jungle that leads to a profusion of flowering hibiscus, bougainvillea, orchids, sea cabbage and a wide variety of native trees that attract hummingbirds, Baltimore orioles and many other birds. Attention to artistic detail, festive informality, impeccable service including daily housekeeping, luxury mattresses, linens and towels, make this beachfront villa the choice destination for your stay in the Mayan Riviera. The Pink House brings the outdoors in, with wide open spaces, sky-colored ceilings and sea-colored floors. You can experience spectacular views from every space in the house. The three spacious bedrooms have unique en-suite bathrooms, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, black-out curtains, terraces, iPod docks, safes and interesting art. The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet and the other bedrooms have dressers and armoires. There is a sleep-sofa in the second bedroom. The large open-plan first floor flows incorporates the outdoor space and is a combination living room, dining room, and professional kitchen, with everything you need to cook, bake, grill, and make ice-cream! If you don't feel like cooking, but want to stay home, Pancho and Berta can prepare fresh, delicious meals for you. The house opens up onto a terrace and a natural-looking stone pool. The outdoor eating area is shaded and food can be passed through the kitchen window. There are lounging areas by the pool. While you can see the beach and bay, the plantings provide a lot of privacy. You can also take one of the paths down beach to kayaks around the bay, snorkel, or head for the beach palapa, to read on the hammocks or sunbathe on the lounge chairs. At night, whether it is an intimate romantic getaway or a group holiday, you will feel transported by the magical lights that illuminate the pool and woods, not to mention the breathtaking stars! Soliman Bay is a private enclave that offers complete quietude, just a short drive from the colorful center of Tulum and the hip restaurants and nightlife of the Tulum Beach area. The Pink House is next door to Jashita, an upscale boutique hotel. They have a restaurant, bar, and offer small fishing and snorkel trips. There are many local companies that offer snorkel, fishing, diving, and adventure trips. Snorkeling here on the bay is great! From the historian, birdwatcher, botany buff to the thrill seeker, all interests will be satisfied by the area's rich offerings. The ancient Maya ruins of Tulum, Coba, and Muyil are between 15 -45 minutes away. Take a yoga class at any of the nearby studios in Tulum or have us arrange a private yoga class on the beach. Many eco-theme parks, are nearby, offering jungle zip-lining, cenotes ((website hidden)), and much more. Or just swim, snorkel, kayak and relax on your own stretch of beach. At the other end of the bay, Chamico's is a rustic outdoor restaurant serving some of the freshest seafood and the best guacamole. The house is designed to sleep three couples plus a few children - if your party exceeds this amount, please contact us regarding our charming thatch-roof bungalow next to the house. It has a queen-size bed, a loft with a full-size air mattress, a fully-equipped kitchen, a coral indoor/outdoor shower, and a front porch with a dining area and a hammock. Designed and built by artist Jill Hunter, The Pink House boasts vibrant colors that conjure the rich palette of Mexican architecture, with the attention to comfort of a five-star hotel. Guest Access Guests have access to anything that isn't locked! Locally made chocolate shampoo, soap, and lotion are in all of the bathrooms. There is a basic amount of spices, condiments and even alcohol sometimes. If you finish anything, please replace for the next guests. Snorkel equipment, kayaks, hammocks, chaise lounges, DVDs, books (all kinds, including art and cookbooks), flashlights and a fully equipped kitchen with a professional range, food processor, ice-cream maker, blender, Kitchen Aide mixer and virtually anything you need to cook. Interaction with Guests I am not usually there when there are guests. I do handle all of the reservations myself, and am happy to answer any questions. Getting around There is public transportation on the main road from Cancun to Tulum in the form of "colectivos," vans that stop on both sides of the highway where the road to Soliman Bay begins. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the house to the highway. Taxis cost about $20 to and from Tulum Pueblo and more to Tulum Beach.
