Just perfect

It is second time we rented Casa Eclipse. And we could not have been happier, the house was perfectly clean, everything was ready for us and our short vacation. The owner Joe is fantastic and a goes beyond possible to meet our needs. Location and views are amazing, I walked the village , enjoyed a couple of hours peace and zen at the monastery and the oldest Olive Garden in the state. We will definitely be back and I almost hate recommending this house to others because it might not now be available on the dates we want it.

Exactly what we needed

location is great, view is lovely, property is fenced, it was exactly what we were looking for. Joe is a wonderful host and very accommodating, pleasure to deal with. we are going back for a longer stay.

A piece of Paradise, far from the maddening crowd…

Located at the western edge of town (Tzintzuntzan, Michoacan del Campo) just after the paved road becomes dirt, this delightful two-story house sits on the hillside, surrounded by cornfields and pastures. The huge terrace, overlooking the north end of Lake Pátzcuaro with an ever-changing view of the mountains, instills peace and tranquility. The house is equiped with everything one could possible need: from bed & bath linens, to a fully equipped kitchen with pots & pans, plates, bowls, cups, coffee maker, etc (even a TV, which I never turned on once in the month that I was there. The radio was enough of a connection, with good stations.) Ideal for a retreat get-away, especially if you have a project that needs attention, focus, and few distractions (such as a writing project). The property is surrounded by stunning views, which would inspire any artist or naturalist (with an abundance of birds from dawn to dusk, and butterflies, so binoculars really are a must). Although out of the way (which in my book is not a bad thing), it is just a short walk into town, and, if need be, the bustling cities of Quiroga and Pátzcuaro are within a half hour-45 minute drive. The big city of Morelia is about a two hour drive. Eclipse House is perfectly situated for day trips around the lake, and to spots further beyond. For two people it was just right, but four would be comfortable, I'm sure. I don’t think that there is a better shower in all of Mexico! I definately am considering returning - as soon as possible. I could not imagine not having a car, for freedom & convenience sake (driving is more laid-back around the lake then in most parts of Mexico), and since the flights usually arrive late and depart early, one can be rented for a modest amount at the airport (and the Morelia Airport Hotel is a stones throw from the terminals, with an exceptionally amiable staff, and good restaurant - Mr Muu – which makes coming & going quite simple). People seem to be overly concerned and afraid of the dangers that they read about in Mexico in the papers or hear on the news. Not once in a month’s time was I ever concerned for my safety or well being. The food is delicious, the people are kind, the history, culture and celebrations in this part of the country are amazing, The owners of Eclipse House have been very generous in making this spot available and giving people the opportunity to explore this area of Michoacan.
