If you need to better understand the ideal position of this country house, just imagine that it is possible to reach the lovely villages along Lake Trasimene, which are surrounded by the green and gentle hills characterized by old castles and medieval villages, in 10 minutes drive only and that at only 30 minutes drive you will find important towns from the historic, artistic and cultural points of view such as Perugia, Siena, Arezzo or the typical medieval villages in the province of Siena like Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano. You can also reach Florence and Rome in 1 hour and a half drive to discover these symbols and cradles of Western arts. Two rows of imposing maritime pines run along the access path to holiday house “Terra di Cortona”, crossing the unspoiled Tuscan countryside, which is embellished by the bright yellow of sunflowers and golden fields of wheat. The country house consists of 3 big and bright apartments, situated on the upper floor and with independent entrance, and a small outbuilding that is located a few meters away from the main building. All the apartments have a breathtaking view onto the enchanting Tuscan landscape, which surrounds and wraps the country house with its typical colors and scents and onto the famous town of Cortona, the real jewel in this magnificent panoramic foreshortening of landscape. Every apartment has two or three bedrooms with bathroom, a big living room with kitchen and fireplace, a mezzanine with a reading room. All the materials used in the renovation fully respect the architectonic structure of the typical Tuscan house, with wooden beamed ceilings, plastered and delicately painted walls alternated to areas of stone or brick walls, floors in terracotta tiles. Some other accurate finishes with precious wood and wrought iron and lovely furnishings enrich the general style of our lovely kitchens with pastel colors and precious pieces of furniture of the 19th century. Holiday home “Terra di Cortona” is equipped with all modern conveniences: air conditioning, independent entrance, covered parking lots, garden and park, swimming pool, barbecue, bocce field, volleyball field, bicycles to use for trips in order to make your holidays in Tuscany really unique and unforgettable.
Apartment “La perla" is situated on the left-hand side of the country house. It opens on a big living room with kitchen and fireplace painted in sage green. The walls are painted in pastel yellow alternated with red brick areas. The wooden beamed ceiling and the floor in Tuscan rough terracotta tiles that are placed in a fish bone decoration make the ambience really warm and quiet.
Time spent in such a peaceful place, which is set in a privileged landscape, recalls feelings and emotions of the past and of a life dimension more on a human scale that gives wellness and tranquility. The large windows have a round view onto the beautiful surrounding countryside. On the left we find a large double bedroom painted in old rose with an ochre wrought iron bed. From the windows open onto the garden and the swimming pool we can see the lovely panorama of the old town of Cortona. The bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with an old-style bathtub and its walls are half painted half in bricks and stone.
