The studio sleeps 2/3 people. The living room converts in an en suite bedroom at night. It has every modern convenience - combi oven cooker and 2 hard plate electric rings plus. There is a small outdoor terrace - just enough to enjoy a glass of wine or a pizza. The studio is cool in Summer and very easy to heat with electric heating in Winter. The property is a mere 2 minute stroll from 3 superb village restaurants, pizzeria, boulangerie, cafe bar, wine bar, grocery store, tourist office, tennis courts, canoe center, Friday market, boulodrome, wine vendor, cave co-operative, river swimming. This is an ideal location from which to tour the entire Languedoc area including Montpellier, Toulouse, Narbonne.
This property is ideal whether you want to sit and laze around, read, paint. or tour the Languedoc area. The local attractions include the famous Narbonne Cathedral and 4 magnificent cathedrals in Beziers; The extraordinary canal du midi with the 9 locks in Beziers; the aqueduct in Nimes; the medieval city of Carcassonne, Pazenas which has hundreds of antique and brocante shops, the Mediteranean beaches a mere 30 mins. region.
Activities include canoeing in the river, swimming, tennis in the village, golf in nearby St Thomas or Lamalou les Bains, ballooning further up the valley and hill walking and climbing, wine tasting. Obviously cycling is a local pass time. The canoe center equips everyone with a safety helmet and life jacket as well as a watertight drum into which one can put lunch and bottle of wine. There are several 'rest' areas to stop at while canoeing downstream. Even if one doesn't canoe there are many places to picnic or bbq on the banks of the river.
At Lamalou-les- Bains there are several spa treatment centers where one can get special treatments for various ailments. There is also a nine hole golf course at Lamalou les Bains with a superb restaurant in the golf club.
